Blog 1: Personal Reflection

I don't have much professional writing experience, but I've enjoyed every writing class I've taken. I like worldbuilding and writing characters and stories, but I'm kind of bad at laying out all my ideas in a coherent fashion. It ends up being more of a word vomit of ideas. I think my strengths in writing come mostly from the ideas I have, but their implementation is my weakness, if that makes sense.

From this class, I'm hoping to improve the parts of writing where I'm weakest. I want to get better at sorting out my thoughts and writing them in an efficient and cohesive manner.

It's kind of difficult to set writing goals, I think. They seem so abstract, like "improve such-and-such," which is really hard to measure. I think my goal is to have a solid outline of events in my personal story so I can begin to fill things out. I'm hoping the skills I learn in this course translate over, helping me complete that goal.
